Tips to keep your Apartment clean and ensure a Healthy Living Environment

More than 20% people in cities have been suspected to be infected with the risk of respiratory infections and their transmission. The virus spreads from person to person and an unhygienic environment sets the stage for its transmission. Let us begin the fight against disease from our home or apartment. Here are some tips for precaution against disease and ensure a healthy working and living environment.

Precaution against disease

  • Open curtains to let sunlight in your rooms.Ultraviolet rays kills virus and helps to keep your home safe and hygienic.
  • Make sure air conditioners and coolers are cleaned regularly and ensure the circulation of fresh air in the room.
  • Areas including floors where children live and play must be cleaned well and disinfected daily. Keep their toys clean and hygienic.
  • Make sure that water is not left standing in the garden after watering the plants. Provide a system that will drain out excess water.
  • Discard used tires, old buckets, tins cans, and used appliances that lying in and around your apartment or in your backyard.
  • Avoid having thick shrubs and dense vegetation as this offers dark spots where mosquitoes generally breed.
  • At home, mosquitoes usually breed in water storage tanks, large water drums, flower vases, near potted plants, ornamental pools and fountains, and water containers of pets.

Keep your home free from mosquitoes which transmit dengue, chickungunya, and malaria. Ensure that drains are covered and regularly cleaned. Since many mosquitoes breed in standing water, source reduction can be as simple as emptying water from containers around the home. Environmental hygiene will help to ensure a healthy living environment reducing the risk of  infections and their transmission.

A home is a place to relax and enjoy with family members. Each room in a home has its own purpose and they need to design to meet those purpose. Bedroom is one of the important rooms which offer you comfort and relaxation. Your sleep can be disturbed for various reasons like TV or PC in sleeping room, lights streaming in, and colors of room and so on.

Tips for relaxing bedroom

Here are some tips for preparing your bedroom for sound sleep and a place for relaxing.

cool colors for bedroom Have soothing and cool colors on your walls or wallpapers

Colors plays vital role in sound sleep. Color and design of each room should be matching to purpose of room. Colors for bedroom must be cool and light color. Bright colors disturb your sleep and mood.

heavy-meals Have light meals before sleep

Avoid heavy meals in the night. Have 1 or 2 servings of fruits and salads.

Avoid watching TV in bedroom Limit TV watching and access to PC

TV is one of the devices that disturb your sleep. Never keep a television and PC in bedroom. Bedroom is to rest or relax, avoid TV and PC from your bedroom

Read in your bedroom while sleep Music or reading books

If you cannot find sleep, you can read books or listen to soothing music. You can also try meditation which relax your mind and helps to sleep well.

Cloths put in disorder or messy look can be stressful for eyes and mind. This can affect your night sleep. Sometimes cloths can look frightening in dark that can disturb your sleep.

Use bedroom only for sleeping and not for watching TV or working. Try relaxation techniques like meditation, yoga before sleep. This helps you easy sleep and gives relaxation. Make small changes and design your bedroom for good night sleep and if you are working in nightshifts, keep bedroom as dark as possible and arrange room where sound from outside do not disturbs your sleep.
