About Dwarka
Dwarka is a township located in the south western part of the National Capital Region of Delhi. It is a sub city which is named after the Dwaraka Kingdom. Airport Express Line is the newly inaugurated road which links the locality with airport. The road is managed by Reliance Infrastructure Ltd and takes three minutes to reach the airport. The place is within a few distance away from Gurgaon.
It is termed as one of the biggest residential townships in Asia and few parts of it come under Pappan Kalan. The sub city has been developed by the 'Urban Expansion Projects' of the Delhi Development Authority. The area is also assumed to be the model township with most organized structure for the upcoming ones. It comes under the West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
Dwarka is limited by some of the neighbouring areas like NH-8, Outer Ring Road, Najafgarh Road, Pankha Road, and the Rewari railway line. On the western front some of the areas in close vicinity are West End, Vasant Kunj, Vikas Puri, Najafgarh, Bijwasan, Palam vihar, Vasant Vihar and Janakpuri. The township consist of 29 sectors and is divided into five wards namely: Ward No 135- Kakraula, 136-Matiala, 141-Bijwasan, 145-Palam, 147-Mahavir Enclave.
It has a total population of 1,100,000 and is spread across 5648 ha. Some of the educational institutes nearby are Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, National Law University, Ambedkar University, Indian Institute of Health Management Research and many more. Hospitals in close proximity are Bensups Hospital, Aarogya Medical Center, Artemis Medical Center, etc.
There are ten metro stations in Dwarka. It is at a distance of 10 km from Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Many housing projects have come up in this area. Each sector will have projects to house 30000 residents. Many developments are still on its way and a boom in real estate sector can be witnessed very soon.
