It is paid based on the four types of properties; the land, the improvements to land like buildings, personal property and intangible property.     • Click on the online civic services section which will be present in the sidebar of the page. This will give you further options, which should be chosen by you.
    • Once you have selected the property tax online payment option, you will have to click on each slot and enter all the details like the zone no; the division code, bill no; and the sub no.
    • The details for the above information can be attained from your previous online property tax payment bills.
    • Once you have entered all the details precisely, click on the submit button.
    • In case if you wish to see your previous online property tax details, you can click the link which is next to the ‘know full status slot’.
  • When the first section is completed, the second section will display the property tax amount which is to be paid.
  • Mark the period for which you have to make the payment and choose the pay online button.
  • Choose the amount from the payment option and select your preferred payment mode and submit it.
  • Once the payment is done, you will receive a confirmation message along with the print option.

The details of the payment mode are;

      • Credit Card (Master Card/Visa) : 1.75% on Bill Amount + 10.30% on 1.75% of bill amount (Service tax + Education cess)
      • Net Banking : Rs.5/- Per Transaction + 10.30% on Rs.6/- (Service tax + Education cess)

      @Subha: I think with SBI netbanking platform it is possible. I have not tried yet but heard it from my friends..

      1) whether we need to pay the house tax every financial year or else we need to pay after one year from the date of last tax payment ?
      2) is it possible to pay the house tax using online payment for the vengai vasal panchayat, chennai ?

      New property numbers are not available on line for some of the old flats.

      If we go to the proper site and record the old property tax number, we get response as
      ” Records not found “.
      Could you plkease expedite the updation of the properyty tax numbers.
