About Hi Tech City
Hi Tech City is one of the major industrial hubs in Hyderabad which is an abbreviation for Hyderabad Information Technology Engineering Consultancy City. It is situated at the north western part of the city. The place is also called as Cyberabad or popularly known as Madhapur. It is located in vicinity with Jubilee Hills which is at the eastern side.
The place evolved after the then chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh saw a vision of developing an IT hub in Hyderabad. It was already developed in Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi. L&T ECC took the charge and the project was named as L&T INFOCITY. Then it was later renamed as Hi Tech City as it is joint collaboration of L&T Infocity Limited and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited.
Some of the neighboring localities are Sharthpur, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Nanakramguda, Manikonda, Thellapur etc. The areas that comes under Hi Tech City are Huda Colony, Madhapur and Parvati Nagar.
The whole area is spread across 151 acres acres of land. There is a ten storey building in the midst of the area which houses companies like Microsoft, IBM, Metamor, Toshiba, Oracle, Wipro and many more. Major educational institutes in proximity are Indian Business School and International Institute of Information Technology.
It is at a distance of 35 km from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and nearest railway station is at a distance of 6 km at Sanathnagar Railway Station.
