During the epoch of Ramakrishna Hegde, who was the Chief Minister of Karnataka, J.P Nagar came into existence. Initially, the area was a Residential locality with scanty Independent Houses and Bungalows. Later in 1990s & 2000, which was an era of IT (Information Technology), the arena bloomed as a semi-commercial locality.
