Jaya Prakashnarayan Nagar, commonly known as J. P Nagar is strategically located in South of Bangalore. The region is spread across approximately 1.79 sq. km and the areas which fall under J.P Nagar are Sarakki, Jarganahalli and Nainappa Settipalya. The region is comprises of Residential cum Commercial property and is enveloped by Jayanagar, Banashankari, Bannerghatta Road and BTM Layout. Bannergatta Road lies towards the East, Aurobinda Marg 24th Main towards the West, Marenahalli Road 45th Cross lies towards the North and Stream/Storm Water Drain, 8th A Main Road, 13th Cross, 13th Main & Sarakki Main Road 9th Cross are towards the South of J.P.Nagar. During the epoch of Ramakrishna Hegde, who was the Chief Minister of Karnataka, J.P Nagar came into existence. Initially, the area was a Residential locality with scanty Independent Houses and Bungalows. It is also connected by 2 important linking roads, viz: Ring Road and Aurobindo Marg. There are approximately 5 post offices in the region. The long awaited Metro Station is planned to be set up at 4th Phase, J.P Nagar (which is a new line).
