Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Plan-2031Hyderabad- The Metropolitan Development Plan-2031 has been approved by the state government. The MDP – 2031 is planned for 6,000 sq km of extended HMDA (Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority) areas.

According to this plan there is no restriction on height of buildings in residential zone-1 and residential zone-II in the Hyderabad Metropo-litan Region (HMR).

While residential zone III and residential zone IV will have a height restriction of 18 meters and for commercial buildings it is 15 meters.

The HMR’s residential area is increased to 848 sq km. The Metropolitan Development Plan-2031 also states that the area of industries and manufacturing units have been hiked by 97 sq km outside the outer ring road belt in Hyderabad city. This will help the industries to shift from gram panchayats and GHMC in ORR to outside

The area of Urban centres have also been hiked from 35 to 46 sq km. Along with this geographical area of 13 urban nodes has also been increased.
