About Outer Ring Road
Outer Ring Road in Bangalore runs mainly adjacent to Marathalli and Sarjapur area. However, it passes through many parts of Bangalore city. It links some of the major localities of the city with other parts. The road is about 62 km long and was developed by Bangalore Development Authority. The road came into being in between 1994 and 2002.
The road was developed to keep traffic down in the city with alternate routes. "Master Plan 2005-2015" had the proposal of developing this road from BDA to improve the traffic condition in the city. Seeing the success rate of outer ring road, the BDA and BMRDA have planned three more ring roads beside the existing one.
The outer ring road connects national and state highways like Tumkur Road (NH 4), Bellary Road (NH 7), Old Madras Road (NH 4), Hosur Road (NH 7), Bannerghatta Road, Kanakapura Road (NH 209), Mysore Road (SH-17) and Magadi Road. Other suburbs connected to the road are Hebbal, Banaswadi, Krishnarajapuram, Marathahalli, Madiwala, BTM Layout, JP Nagar, Banashankari, Kengeri, Bangalore University, Nagarbhavi, Nandini Layout and Gokula.
Inner ring road of the said road connects towards Indiranagar and Madiwala. There are various IT companies in the outer ring road like Nokia, Altair, Accenture, Capgemini, Cisco, Motorola, etc.
Many upcoming projects can be seen in the outer ring road near Sarjapur Road as it is in close proximity with the IT Park. Other places also hold good demand in case of real estate sector.
