@ Subramanium the public transportation problem still exists. The residents of Mambalam in Chennai are facing everyday improper transportation problem. Moreover there is no proper planning among the transportation, the workers and the over night change of bus routes without any hint.
Has anyone bought unapproved land? What are risks in buying such property?
Buying unapproved land in chennai is common but if you are buying for consrtucting home, it is not recommended. In such plot one may not get the house plan approval from the authorities.
Unapproved land you can get in cheaper rate and by paying a nominal fee, you can convert them to approved land. But you need patience because you need to know when govt announce the scheme of it getting approved.

According to RBI neither nationalised nor private banks are allowed to sanction any home loan against the law of B khata. I do not think B khata properties get home loans from any bank, but I have heard that some of the co-operative banks are doing so through some agents with high rate of interest.

The bank of India tried to help the customers financially but none of them was given the fruit neither the bank nor the loan takers. RBI does not want to face any lose in future for that they have set up a committee to look into the principles of governing proper, non discriminatory, transparent pricing for credit. The reason for not using plastic bags is that the bags does not get decomposes so fast and easily and it creates problem as it jam the drains. So to get rid of the trouble the Supreme Court has banned the plastic bags. There is an alternative of using biodegradable and compostable bag which quickly gets decomposed; the rates of the bags are little high than the normal plastic bags. The demand for these bags is not so high but gradually the demand is increasing.

I have recently shifted to Chennai, I have seen people suffering from huge problems like improper drainage, garbage overflowing, powercut and more over the conditions of the roads are in horrible conditions. During heavy rainfall the condition of the road of Chennai detariorate to the extreme.
