Chennai Corporation: Property tax payment status will be sent via e-mail

The revenue department of Chennai Corporation has come forward with a better plan of sending e-mail statements in concern with property tax.

This initiative is to maintain better accountability and transparency in tax collection.

From now onwards, tax payers will be asked to register their contact numbers and e-mail ID in order to remind them about the due payment much in advance!

E-mail of the total data of tax payment will be sent to the payer as well as to corporation to keep track of records.

As a fact that 80 percent of the corporation’s total revenue collection comes from property tax, Chennai corporation is securing the process every now and then!
