About Thuraipakkam
Thuraipakkam is located in the Kancheepuram district near Chennai. It is situated on the Old Mahabalipuram Road which is now known as Rajiv Gandhi Salai. The road is also known as IT Expressway.
Thuraipakkam is situated on a forest reserve area which is located on the eastern side of the Pallikaranai marsh. This area is designated as one of the main ecosystems in the city. It is spread across a small area accounting upto 3 km which has Perungudi to its north.
The locality is known for five major landmarks: Seevaram, Jain College area, RRE area, Mettukkuppam and PTC quarters. The IT corridor and the GST Road (Grand Southern Trunk Road) is linked by the Thoraipakkam Pallavaram Radial road which connects the area with the airport at ease. There had been less traffic ever since opening of this road towards the south of the city which includes GST Road,Tambaram-Velachery main road and Old Mahabalipuram Road.
Some of the educational institutes in close vicinity are Lady Andal Venkata Subba Rao Matriculation School, DAV School, Modern Senior Secondary School, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, etc. Many hospitals nearby are Apollo Cancer Hospital, Lifeline Rigid Hospital, Lifeline Multi Speciality Hospital, Devaki Hospital and many more.
It is at a distance of 20 km from both Chennai Central Railway Station and Chennai International Airport. There has been a prime growth in this area which has see a great demand for real estate sector also. It has a merge of both residential as well as commercial properties in the locality.
