- Light-emitting diodes commonly called LED’s helps you to save your utility bill and reduce conception of electricity when comparing with ordinary incandescent or fluorescent lighting.
- Switching to LED lighting can save 40 to 70 percent of the electricity.
- A building’s carbon footprint from lighting can be reduced by 60 to 70 per cent by exchanging all incandescent bulbs for new LED.
- LED lights have an extremely long life span and use much less energy than incandescent bulbs.

- LED can be made to focus without the use of extra reflectors or lenses, which means less bulk and lower cost for the same beam of light.
- The fitting options are so great that they can even fit into recessed ceiling spot lights giving off a fantastic level of lighting.
- LED Light bulbs offer a range of different lighting options, from colored lighting to dim and romantic lighting, there is an LED bulb to suit your every lighting need.
- The LED light bulbs currently on the market are best-suited for task and accent lighting.
- LED bulbs contain no mercury and are solid state. They can be dropped without presenting a chemical hazard and there is no filament to break.
- LED bulb gives off a greater level of light, comes in a range of different lighting options and will last for long. These lights can be used in traffic signals, crosswalk signs, and Common areas of apartment and can be used even on holiday displays.
LED lighting is an attractive alternative to incandescent or fluorescent lighting in both residential and commercial lighting applications. LED lamps are just tiny light bulbs that fit easily into an electrical circuit, very energy-efficient and have very long lives. In some states government offers incentives or rewards for supporting green living and reduce carbon footprint. Switching to LED can save electricity and leading to reduction in consumption of coal through which electricity is generated.

All LED Lights In My house (220V Single phase) Continuously glow with dim light even after switch of the light.Plese tell me what is the reason .
Hi varinder,
The LED bulb has a capacitor. Capacitors are components that are used to store an electrical charge and are used in timer circuits. When the circuit is switched on, the LED emits light and the capacitor charges up. When the switch is turned off the LED stills emits a light for a few seconds because the electricity stored in the capacitor is slowly discharged. When it has fully discharged it’s electricity the LED no longer emits light.
Thank you

READY TO FIT LED RODS (4 ft) ARE available from MIC. Installed around 50 rods and observed better lux levels and >60% power reduction .
Can somebody talk about the most important thing – the cost?
Hi Vijay,
Cost of the LED lamp is more than the incandescent (normal round bulb) and lesser than the CFL (Compact Florescent Light). You may be knowing that ZERO Candle bulb cost Rs. 12/- which we use for bed lamp, normally where you need less light, zero candle means 10 Watt. Cost of the CFL is more than Rs.100/- and available in different shapes and twists. If you go for LED, 1 Watt lamp will give you the same output of the light in a SUN light flavor (white in color) but cost wise Rs.35/- to Rs.40/-. If you talk about the life of the various bulbs, incandescent is maximum of 1 to 3 months and CFL maximum of 3 to 6 months, if there is any fluctuations in the voltage (high side) life will not be ensured. LED lamp life is minimum of 1year maximum of 5 years, manufacturer claims 50,000 working hours, if you take working hours 12 per day (night) life is more than 10 years. LED lamp with stands vibrations and voltage fluctuations too.
I think this above info is enough to understand cost, life, saving of power.
Tks & Rgds.
