Create a tropical paradise in your apartment!
I would like to decorate my space with plants. How do I create a tropical paradise without going overboard? I have a 3. 5 BHK apartment and would like to create a painting of vibrant green plants.

Plant decor is one the most versatile decor embellishment you can work into your abode – and we love this simply because this decor add-on transforms your space alive with a minimal fuss. Plants are one of the most multipurpose things we can bring into our homes. They improve our air quality, bring color and life to a space, and sometimes even provide us with food or flowers. They’re also a great way to decorate an empty corner or an open space that needs a boost.
I would say before you bring in plants, understand the style of your decor. For example, modern, contemporary styles look best with sleek, clean-lined plants that have long, slender shapes; frilly, feminine ferns work well with Victorian decor; and cacti are the perfect complement for Southwest style.
If you want to group a number of plants together for added impact, be sure you select plants that have similar light and water requirements for the arrangement. I love the idea of creating intricate little sculptures with plants. Mix round, pointy, shiny, and matte plants, unifying them with just two types of neutral pots.
If you are looking at creating a dramatic impact with plants, then group plants together in varied heights. Also, you could try grouping plants in a single container for drama. Any large container, like a basket or trunk, will work. Remember, it’s best to use plants with similar light and water needs. Try using plants from the same family.
For example, group different ferns together, or use the same plant with different color variations. Arrange plants, still in their pots, in the container, using strong color groupings.
For a centrepiece, use plants with colorful foliage or blooms. If you group several in a container, cover the pots with sphagnum moss or Spanish moss for a finished look.
For your foyer:
The home entrance or hallways gives the first impression about the house and its residents. Green leaves and beautiful flowers are a sign of chic decor and residents caring for their home. You can place some plants near a corner in the hallway or over a table in the entrance.
For the corner:
If you looking at a corner arrangement and are cramped for space, then a large oversize plant can make a beautiful poetry. Make it mobile so you can easily roll it out of the way for vacuuming or to protect it from too much sun.
Green the bedroom with ferns:
Trading a bedside lamp for a rich, leafy fern offers a surprise hit of nature that’s especially striking in a neutral space – it can turn an understated room into a minimalist enchanted forest. Ordinary ferns look regal when tucked in pretty matte pots and groomed a bit; just trim stray fronds and remove anything brown.
In your kitchen:
You can always use small plants on the window still and around the sink where lighting is best and water is close by. You could always make use of pots of herbal plants like mint, basil and other things you need, so you decorate the kitchen as well as use fresh herbs for your cooking.
Bring plants into your bathroom:
Bring plants into the bathroom and create a more spa-like ambiance. To adjust the heights, raise the bottom of a deep container with folded fabric, rocks, bricks so the plants will be more visible. Line the container with heavy plastic, like a garbage bag.
Attractive vases of fresh flowers:
I’ve always loved the idea of bringing in fresh flowers to add a dash of glam to my abode. Striking vases in different shapes and sizes spruced up with gorgeous fresh flowers are an instant pick me up. And with this decor add on, you don’t have to worry about going overboard. A simple living area comes alive with a burst of yellow sunflowers or white roses.
