Wall designs with paint are created in order to depict the contemporary interiors and form a desired atmosphere. Wall finishes is an art that is created on the wall to enhance the interior or the exterior look of the structure.
The interior styles of the wall finishes which are used are quite delicate and need proper care and maintenance. The current interior trend has resulted in an increased number of wall finishes for aesthetic purposes.
Types of wall design ideas
- Cement plastered Finish: In this form of wall finishing, the mortar is mixed with cement, sand and water in apt quantities and is applied on the walls manually to achieve a smooth finish or a sand faced finish.
- Cement Textured Finish: In this art of wall finishing, the mortar is prepared with a cement based material. It is applied with sand faced plaster and a trowel and is later painted. This art can be one of the best compound wall designs.
- Laminate Finish: A different material is available to create laminate wall finish. It comes in innumerable colours and designs and is pasted with fevicol on a flat surface.
Gypsum Plaster Finish: This building material is similar to that of POP finish and is used to prepare mortar. It is more durable and finer.
- Glass Mosaic Finish: In this form of wall designing, small glass mosaic tiles are used on a cloth to get the appropriate size and are pasted on the wall with an adhesive. They are also pasted on curved surfaces with different colours and are usually used in swimming pools.
- Designer Mirror Finish: This wall finish involves designer mirrors which are structured on walls to create a mural like design using small glass pieces.
- Marble Powder Finish: This is one of the smooth finishes which are similar to marble flooring. It is obtained by using mortar of marble powder, white cement and water.

Plaster of Paris Finish: The POP finish is a building material which is based on calcium sulphate hemihydrates. This is generally applied on the internal walls and gives a smooth finish and is one of the best wall designs with paint.
- Flake finish: This art of wall finishing is done to enhance the elevation treatment of the building. It is both used in interiors and the exteriors of the building. The flakes are created over a coat of adhesive by using a trovel.
- Coral finish: This type of wall finishing is used mostly in almost all the apartments in India these days. It is similar to that of Plaster of Paris finish. It has a rough edgy finish. This can be one of the best bedroom wall designs.
Apart from the manual wall finishes, there are also readymade stencils which are available in the market. You can paste the stencil on the wall and colour it with your desired shade with the help of a roller. Remove the stencil and you can get the design. The wall finishing design comes in various shapes like geometric designs, vines, flowers, tree branches, wall arts, murals, birds, butterflies, animals and so on. The tools required to create the wall finishing’s rollers, dense rollers, bristle and clip on.
