About Bidadi
Bidadi is an area located off 32 km from Bangalore city. It is situated right off Bangalore - Mysore expressway. It is in close vicinity with the Ramanagaram Taluk of Ramanagara district.
Bidadi is a part of Bangalore Rural district on the way to Mysore. The rural district also included Ramanagara district earlier. The place is famous for highest production of silk which adds to the famous Mysore Silk.
As per 2001 census, the total population is 79,365 with male population being 52% and female population being 48%. The average literacy rate of this area is 63%.
Some of the educational institutes in close vicinity are Ghousia College of Engineering and Govt Engineering College. MH College of Education, Shantiniketan Group of institution, etc. The nearby hospitals are BGS Global Hospital, Shreya Hospital, Indus Westside Hospital, Shreshta Clinic, Manipal Super Speciality Hospital, etc.
The Bangalore Metropolitan Development Authority has planned to develop a township in close vicinity. This will be done under public-private partnership model and DLF after winning the bid has planned to build a 60000 crore project which is termed as "Bidadi Knowledge City".
Bidadi is situated in close vicinity with Mysore Road, Kengeri, Rajarajeshwarinagar. The other areas can be reached via State Highway 17. It is at a distance of 30 km from City Railway Station and around 50 km from Bangalore International Airport.
