Electronic City, Bangalore

Electronic City is a locality in Bangalore which was settled by Keonics, Karnataka Electronics, a pioneer in information technology infrastructure development. The region sprawls over 1.3 sq. km (332 acres) and is one of the largest Electronic Industrial Parks of India. It is the top 12th region out of 20 regions to live in as per the DNA-IMRS survey of Bangalore’s Best Localities. The region is developed in three different phases, Phase I, II & III. The region is enveloped by Mico Layout, HSR Layout, Kammanahalli, Bommanahalli and Bilekahalli.

The Electronic City was a part of the concept of making Bangalore the “Silicon Valley of India” by the first Chairman & Managing Director of Keonics, Karnataka Electronics. The region was developing slowly & steadily and has reached the position where it is today. Formerly, the maintenance of the region was done by Keonics which was handed over to the ELCIA, Electronics City Industries Association, in 1997.

The region is well developed and has many reputed IT companies, industries and residential spaces. Apart from these commercial spaces, there are many popular lakes in the vicinity. Some of the lakes such as Doddanagamangala Kere, Rayasandra kere, Chikkatogur kere, Gattahalli kere, Veerasandra kere, Heelalige kere, Hebbagodi kere and lots more. It also has some of the reputed educational institutions and hospitals to give better facility to the residents.

The region is fully fledged with numerous IT companies & Industries and Educational Institutes and Hospitals.

The Electronic City is accessible from various localities through Road ways and currently Metro which is under construction. The Electronic City is linked by 9.985 km National Highway (extensive elevated highway in India) to Silk Board. It is barely 22 km from Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic Station) & Bangalore City Railway station while Bangalore international Airport is 54 km away.

The proper development and accessibility to major destinations of the city in a short span of time, has increased the population density of the region. The population has been increasing exponentially. Further, many residential projects are coming up in order to accommodate the population of the region. The development of the IT industries & Residential Projects and continuous pouring of the people has increased the land rates intensely. This causes the uplift in the Real Estate Sector.
