Diwali Celebration-Bursting crackers in apartment

Yet another festive time is getting closer! Diwali, the ‘festival of lights’ is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor in all Indian states. As we all know, bursting of crackers is an intrinsic part of Diwali celebrations. Bursting crackers is real fun, but remember, it is equally important to take necessary precautions for ensuring a safe celebration for you, for your neighbors as well as for your community.

For the safety of all residents in the apartment complex, some general tips as mentioned below should be followed without fail.

High sound emitting crackers and high decibel bombs should be avoided. It is recommended to avoid cracking as far as possible between 10 pm and 6 am.

Common areas like corridors, basement and spaces in front of flats should not be used for bursting crackers.

Residents should use only the designated open space for lighting fireworks and crackers. If there is no designated space in your apartment, use a secluded area away from the parking spaces and common areas.

Do not light any fireworks like rockets if you don’t have sufficient open space in your apartment or if there are electric lines and trees around.

Ensure that cracking of fireworks are done with the supervision of the security staff and with access to water and first aid at handy places. The security staff should be briefed on the same.

Don’t throw away used crackers and fireworks around or outside the compound wall. Instead, soak them in buckets filled with water.

Children should not be allowed to perform cracking alone without the supervision of elders. Encourage children to wear shoes and glasses for eye for personal safety.

If you are engaging in bursting crackers as a group, ensure that you are letting out the fireworks one at a time and not several ones at a single go.

Check if any residents moving out of the designated area, strictly no bursting of crackers in parking areas and in areas other than designated place for bursting the cracker.

Ensure that there are no overhead electric lines and trees close to the designated space.

Remove all clothes hung for drying in balconies or terrace to prevent them from catching fire from flying sparks or rockets.

These tips are for everyone living in an apartment community, cooperation of every resident is required for adhering to the rules of the association. Celebrate this Diwali safely.

Wish you all a Happy & Safe Diwali!!!
