Features you may miss out while choosing a home
Let us say that you are first time home buyer and looking to buy a home for yourself. Before purchasing the house, you should ask yourself what are the features you would like to have in your home. Investing in house is meant for a long duration and spending every penny should ensure that you get all the features you want.
Features that will come to your mind while choosing a home would probably be price range, locality and social infrastructure, layout, etc. They are some of the obvious features you want to have in your home. Although these are the essential parameters of choosing a home, there may be dozens of others which you need to keep in mind. It should be mentioned here that for every buyer features may vary and the weightage to each feature is subjective to the buyer.
En-suite bathroom
Homes are where a substantial investment of yours go into. Home is not only a place to live in; it exemplifies your values and living standards. Ensure that you have en suite bathrooms in your home, even if it means you have to spend extra bucks. They would be necessary as your family grows in number and size.
Style
Styles fade away with time. Make sure you have the right style to match your values and comes within your budget. If you aim at boosting resale value of your house, then you should go for conventional styles that will stay in demand for majority of people for a long time. You can go for personalized off beat style if you are buying the house with the attention of staying in it for a long time.
Extra room
Always go for an extra family room. An extra room would ensure that you and family members would enjoy privacy. You may not want to spend every walking moment in the full view of all the people you live with. Also the extra room would ensure that you do not have to face any crunch of space if any friends or relatives come for a visit.
Garage/paring space
Space for car parking or garage room for two cars is desired by most of the home buyers. You would like to have space for two cars in your garage if you are buying an individual house and in case of a flat you would like to have space for more than one car. Even if you own a single car at present, you may have another in near future. Also, the additional space can be utilised by keeping some house cleaning gear or the bicycle of your kid.
Construction material
It is very easy to ignore the safety elements while riding on the excitement of buying a home for the first time. High rises are sprouting up in the skylines of many cities. As many regions of our country fall under seismic zones, it is very much necessary to ensure that construction is done with adequate requirements being fulfilled. Reinforced cement concrete, or RCC design technique should be used to ensure that they withstand earthquake tremors in the seismic zones.
View and landscaping
View of a house boosts its resale value along with bringing in pleasurable experiences for the residents. A beautiful view of lake or city lights may boost the value of your home more than you think it can. Landscaping with beautiful garden space also enhances your house value.
Closets
You may be headstrong on getting the designer fittings in bathrooms or having the best looking modular kitchens in the house, but make no mistakes about the fact that a seemingly less important feature like closet assumes importance to a great degree. You may keep in mind these closet features – linen closet in the hallway and in bathroom to keep sheets and blankets and towels respectively; utility closet, preferably near the kitchen, to put broom, etc.; a back-door closet or at least some place to hang family coats and store boots and shoes.
