Feng Shui and selling property
Feng Shui has its own place in home staging and can possibly help one selling a house. People have variable opinions over this. Feng Shui can be described as the art of placement/positioning and motivates a decent interaction of the five components in the existence viz: Earth, Fire, Water, Metal, Wood, and a balance in the Yin and Yang to eventually have a harmonious energy flow in the particular space. In this particular case, it would be a home that is on sale.
Implementing the principles and following the guidelines of Feng Shui to a home that is being staged to be able to be put up for sale will indeed be valuable for the following reasons: more open areas allow the flow of energy, balance of the five components allows for variety, and a stability of the Yin and Yang will allow for more relaxing visits.
To begin with by trying to motivate the flow of positive energy in any area, obviously one will have to eliminate the clutter and open up space for smooth flow of energy. This implies that customers will be more excited to actually step into each space of the home in contrast to simply being content with standing at the doors and peeking through at what the space looks like. In a sensation, the energy that is streaming through the home will guide the visitor to simply walk through in a similar pattern. Where energy is moribund and does not tend to flow, possibilities are your customers will not go.
Similarly, making it a point to integrate all five components into each area of the home will broaden the colors and materials that are incorporated in a particular space. When done beautifully, this can help in harmonizing the content of a particular area and provides it a more welcoming feel. A good example is a space that contains plenty of timber or brownish shades, in which we incorporate a painting with red shades to signify the component of fire, a silver layer to signify metal and aqua cushions on brown couch to indicate the water component. The various shades and components will break up the unsaturated brown and be much more attractive to the consumer’s eye.
Finally, a balance of the Yin and Yang is what will harmonize any space in the house. Have you ever stepped into a home you were viewing and the stress in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife. That is absolutely not you want customers to have sensed when they come and visit your home. The residence needs to feel relaxed and welcoming to them. They need to think that this is a home they would be comfortably living in. Too much excitement, just as too much stress can quickly prevent a customer from making an offer. Energy balance in the home is what will provide your customers the optimal experience when viewing.
In summary, whether you believe in the power of Feng Shui or not, it continues to be that it is part of the principles of home staging. The ideas are linked in together whether you like it or not. When selling a home, you need to keep the energy balanced inside it, you must have energy flowing through the home to be able to guide the customers through the residence and the decorations must be different and fairly neutral. What can be more fairly neutral and experience more natural than the components we find in nature? Ultimately, be it knowingly or instinctively, Feng Shui is a part of selling a property. It is up to the person to choose if they wish to create their Feng Shui knowledge and use it as an aspect of their home selling strategies or not.
