Railway Budget 2014: North-eastern states gets a lion’s share in the Railway budget
The 2014-15 railway budget has given a significant boost to the infrastructure projects in North East. In a move to revive the economies of the North Eastern states, the government in its new budget has allocated Rs 5116 crore for its infra-projects, which is 54 per cent higher than the last year. With promising unparallel regional connectivity, this has given the people of north east a reason to celebrate.
The new budget is all set to take these states to a new level altogether. Considering the fact that North Eastern states are better known for the tourism opportunities, the new government has allocated special package trains to cater the religious pilgrimage circuits. This, as a result, will not only make a significant contribution to the overall development of the states, but will also add to the economies of the region.
