Tips to clean a white leather couch
All of us choose the best of furniture and accessories for our home. Especially furniture like couch and sofa, it’s a tedious task to maintain them. It’s even tricky to maintain leather couch in our home. A leather couch’s beauty and class brings a different status to our room decor, but to maintain the beauty and class of a leather couch and that too if it is white, is a difficult task.
The problem is that we do not notice the dust that accumulating on the couches. One day, all of a sudden we see that the white couch has become grey! But fret not, here are few tips which will help you bring back couch’s original colour and class.
Cleaning products
Leather is a very sensitive material. You can not use each and every chemical to clean it. Using unsuitable chemical will make the leather to loose it’s colour and texture. There are lot of cleaning solutions available in the market for leather materials. When you plan to clean your leather couch, first try the solution on a small corner and check if it is not damaging the couch. Do it safe rather than spoiling the whole couch.
Home remedies
Suddenly you see your couch all faded and unclean and you have guests coming in the same day, don’t worry, you can use any body wash you have. Take a damp cloth, pour little body wash on the cloth and slowly rub the portions. Ensure that your couch should not get too much wet. Also do not form too much of lather, which can lead to crumpling of the leather. The cloth should be dump and moist, not wet. This is an easy home solution.
Buff the area
After cleaning, you have to buff the area with dry cloth. Never leave the leather wet and damp, it will reduce the life of the leather. So make sure after cleaning you rub and wipe it with dry clean cloth.
Nail polish remover
If the stain is too hard and refuses to go after wash, dry that particular part. Take a cotton and dip it into non-acetone nail polish remover. This will help to remove the dirt. This an easy home remedy.
Please do not use harsh chemicals to clean a leather couch, it will ruin the texture.
