About Alwar

A city that has seen several great victories, the city of Alwar is the administrative headquarters of the district of Alwar in Rajasthan. The city is a fine display of the state’s rich cultural heritage and is a part of the present National Capital Region (NCR).

The Aravalli Hills give the city a picturesque setting and almost half the district is covered in forests, providing a suitable habitat for many wild animals to live in. Alwar makes a sizable contribution to Rajasthan’s agricultural produce. A variety of Rabi and Kharif crops are also grown here.

Alwar is approximately 160 km away from New Delhi and 150 km away from the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur. The city is well connected to the rest of the state and country. It is a historic city that is reminiscent of the days when Sultans ruled the land.

Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited

The Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited is one of three distribution companies in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. generates power through the operation of thermal power stations at Kota and Suratgarh, gas-based power stations at Ramgarh, hydel power stations at Mahi and mini-hydel stations in the state.

The Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd. transmits power to the three distribution companies.
