Innovative use of plastic bottles for home decor
Due to the fact that 2.4 million tons of PET plastic is discarded every year, plastic bottles are somewhat of a curse on society. Now the point of discussion is how we can prevent these bottles from littering the earth?
Here we have discussed few ideas which can be implemented in the office space, in apartments and in individual houses using plastic bottles, to construct interesting spaces. Plastic bottles are a cheap construction material and are surprisingly durable.
Use of plastic bottles in landscape:
The plastic bottles are amazingly durable due to which they can be used in landscaping. A vertical garden was successfully constructed in a restaurant using empty cold drink bottles.
Door and its decoration:
In the picture below, on the extreme left the plastic bottles are used in creating a trendy door of an exhibition space. This door not only adds one design element to the space but also created a nice ambiance with light coming through these bottles.
Internal partitions:
The bottles can be used to create internal partitions. The best part about the use of transparent bottles is that they don’t restrict the sun light.
Railing designs:
The bottles can also be used in creating interesting railing designs. In Thailand, a whole monastery was designed using glass bottles.
Natural light :
Sandwich the bottles in between the wall’s construction material during construction. This creates an interesting pattern and allows sunlight to enter the space without hampering privacy. In the picture, the bottles are used in the exterior wall of a bathroom, giving it a unique and trendy look.
