Bathroom storage ideas – Part 2
Whether it’s a hot-water shower after a long day’s work to distress yourself or unwinding your spirits in the morning session, they say, bathrooms play an important role in lifting your mood. Storing bathroom accessories including towels, brush, cosmetics and other products should be properly managed for a clean and uncluttered bathroom. Here are few storage ideas you can implement in your bathroom to create a more organized and relaxing atmosphere.
Back of cabinet doors – When you run out of space on shelves to keep toiletries, you can think of creating holders/bags at the back of the cabinet doors to create extra space.
Use holders or trays– Rather than putting all products or bath accessories at one drawer or in one cupboard, you can use baskets or trays to keep combs, face washes etc. separately. Keep the leaked items in a plastic container.
Below wash basin– If you do not have extra counter space, you can install a small shelf below the wash basin or a storage with opening type mirror to create space for small tubes and other accessories.
Wall hangings – Place hook on the wall to hand towels, bath robes, etc.
Mirror trick – The mirror trick works best when your bathroom is small and you want to create a bigger bathroom impression. Use clear-glass shelves with mirror on the back. It will make the room look more spacious and uncluttered.
Wooden barrels on walls – Keep rounded wooden barrels with X-shape, four partitions on the wall to create space for towels and other products.
Floating or open space shelves – For small bathrooms, you can opt for open shelves (just plain racks without any doors or side walls that use less wall space) on the wall to give an open look.
Make use of corner space – Using corner stands, racks or corner washbasins with bowls to keep bath products is an excellent space saving storage idea.
Explore & make use of unconventional areas – You need to be creative enough to find potential space for storage facility in your bathroom such as having draw on side wall, etc.
Adjustable racks/shelves – Customize the shelves space (space between the racks) to fit your toiletries.
Built-in storage facility – Mostly, both sides of the wash-basin area remain unused. You can have built-in cupboards/draws to create additional space.
Movable standing closets – If you don’t have inbuilt storages, you can buy movable storages to keep towels and other accessories.
Vertical space –Vertical arrangements create more space, whether it’s in form of a cup-board or a stand.
Utilizing ventilation – If your bathroom has a small window sized ventilation, its base can be used for storing things that need an easy access.
Hooks– More hooks at a height can save the clutter on the single hanging rod.
Tilt-out drawers– You can opt for tilt-out drawers which require less space.
Glass jars, plastic containers or freezer bin – You can keep rubber bands, soap in a glass jar on the cabinet, similarly you can keep toiletries in plastic containers/freezer bins inside the cupboards for easy access.
Below the bathtub space – You can make use of the space beneath the bathtub by creating tilted / sliding doors or racks for storing cleaning brushes and solutions/ detergents.
