19 Infra Projects get Nod by Clearance Committee

JNNURMIn a move to create a stir in the development cycle of the state, the Karnataka State Government has made a huge statement in its recent move. The State High-Level Clearance Committee has given its nod to 19 projects that worth Rs 14818, to beef up Bangalore and its adjoining cities.

The 19 projects sanctioned by the government under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission scheme, comprise of sewage, water supply, roads, basic services for the poor etc. Once these industrial projects are provided with the means to go for, around 69746 people would get employment out of it.

Cost to be borne

In the 2008-09 budget, around Rs 6866 crore were sanctioned by the government for all the projects certified under JNNURM. The government has left no stone unturned to gather funds for the 19 projects under JNNURM, which will be accordingly implemented in Mysore and Bangalore.

In the present year, the cost to be borne by the government stands up to Rs 14818 crore. JNNURM, is the single centrally managed scheme, which is used to revive 64 urban conglomerates that includes Mysore and Bangalore. With the addition of 47 more projects for infrastructure services like drainage, water and roads, the cost of the scheme has taken a big leap in comparison to the previous mark.

Numbers matter

The rural districts of Bangalore have got the maximum share for its six important projects, valuing 4397 crore. Endowed with a lion share, the Bangalore Rural district projects are likely to employ around 23302 people followed by Mysore (with Rs 2404 crore) that will offer jobs to around 1220 people.

To add to it, the software sector has five projects, which is likely to come up with 56050 employment opportunities. The automobile sector along with the chemical sector has three projects worth Rs 5415 crore and Rs 2618 crore. The least benefited sector is tourism which will offer employment to not more than 54 people.

Addition to almost each and every growth sector of the state, will boost the economy significantly and will promote social infrastructure growth extensively. Growth of social infrastructure will be a boon for the real estate market of the state and will take it to new heights.
