All you need to know about Lucknow Metro
1. Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh is known for its cultural, intellectual traditions, education, service industry and research.
2. The Master Plan of 2021 of Lucknow has projected a population of 4 million.The increasing number of industries in and around the city followed by the burgeoning population has led to a considerable demand for transportation.
3. Due to heavy traffic congestion there is a great need for metro transportation facility in the city.
4. The survey work on Lucknow metro is complete and construction of Metro Phase I will begin in December this year and is expected to get over by December 2016.
5. There will be eight Metro stations between Transport Nagar and the Charbagh Railway Station in the first phase of the project on the north-south corridor.
6. The teams from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and World Bank have also come to Lucknow in the past to review project for exploring loaning options.
7. The first phase of Lucknow Metro will be 22.87 km long and connect the Amausi International Airport and Munshi Puliya.
8. It is estimated that 6.45 lakh passengers will use this corridor in the year 2020.
9.There are total 22 stations, which are proposed in the first phase, out of which 19 stations will be elevated and three stations are underground.
10. The east-west corridor extends from Lucknow railway station to Vasantkunj, where 12 stations are proposed, out of which five are underground and seven are elevated.
11.The Real estate in Lucknow is reaching sky high. The investors have reaped returns of 25 to 50 % in last two years. Hazratganj, Indranagar and Gomtinagar are some of the striking places of Lucknow. These places will also soon be connected by metro-rail. Hence realty market is expected to rise tremendously in these localities.
12. Public Investment Board (PIB) has given the final stage clearance on Lucknow Metro Project.

Amausi – Transport Nagar – Krishna Nagar – Singar Nagar – Alambagh – Alambagh Bus Station –Mawaiya – Charbagh Railway Station – Lucknow Railway Station – KKC – Husian Ganj –Sachivalaya – Hazrat ganj – K.D. Corridor 2: East West Corridor (Rajajipuram to Patrakarpuram upto Gomti Nagar)
Rajaipuram Road – Rajajipuram West – Tikiatganj – Motijheel area – Aishbagh – Tilak Nagar – Subhash Marg – Aminabad – Kaisarbagh – Hazratganj – Subash Marg – Butler Road – Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park (Vishal Khand) – Vipul Khand – Patrakarpuram in Gomti Nagar.
