Bangalore: Get Cauvery Water in Your Society by paying for Pipelines

Apartment complexes in Bangalore can get Cauvery water connection if they can bear the charges for laying of pipelines connected to the main water and sanitation network. BWSSB Bangalore has proposed to provide Cauvery water connection to apartment complexes, if apartment community or owners are ready to bear the expense for laying of pipelines. The expense may vary depending on the diameter for laying the pipes.

There are number of apartments in Bangalore that don’t have Cauvery water connection and depend on private water tankers while some also depend on borewell. But often the water of these private tankers is of poor quality or the borewell goes dry especially during summer. These apartments spend almost Rs 1 to 3 lakhs for tankers alone. The expense for laying pipelines could be anywhere between Rs 3,000 to 5,000 and for some apartments it may go up to Rs 3 lakh depending on its diameter.

This initiative by BWSSB seems to be a good solution for apartment complex’s water problem especially in areas like Whitefield, Sarjapur, Bommanahalli, Yelahanka, Peenya and in the newer areas of the city.
