Bathroom privacy tips in your apartment
Bathroom is a place where a person needs his/her own time and should maintain privacy. With small children at home, it becomes quite difficult for a parent to maintain privacy in a bathroom. A parent should ensure that a child does not develop the habit of violating a person’s bathroom privacy. Here are few suggestions:
Tell your child or the person about privacy:
Although not everyone would feel at ease to tell this, but to take some time out and instruct the person about bathroom privacy will make a great deal of difference. Have a conversation with the child and tell him/her in a gentle way about personal space.
A privacy placard:
One of the best ideas to make your child feel the importance of privacy is to have him make a doorknob hanger stating “Privacy Please”. Help your child know why it is important.
Keeping the child occupied:
If you have toddlers in your apartment, it becomes quite difficult to make them understand and keep them away from you. In such cases, keep a basket of toys and books near the entrance of the bathroom which can keep the child engaged rather than disturbing you.
Compromise:
In most cases timid children/toddlers do not agree to separate from their mothers, in such cases; you can leave the door a little open which can make the child feel secure along with your privacy.
Assign a task:
In order to keep your child away from the bathroom, assign the child some easy task which you think the child can do. Avoid asking your child to pick up heavy objects or to climb on higher platforms.
Well, apart from just the above suggestions, mothers can be creative and think of many other ideas to keep their children occupied without being disturbed in their privacy.
