Center to invest on development of Nagpur City
The central government will invest in Nagpur to develop it as a major commercial center of the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. It has decided to invest almost Rs 1500 crore to upgrade the Nagpur Airport and make it at an international level. The Mansar-Tumsar State Highway will be fully concretized and the works for it will begin soon.
Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari told that the tender process of upgradation of Airport is in final stage and work is expected to start soon. Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said Rs 15,000 crore will be invested by Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Peeth for setting up food parks in Nagpur, Katol and Amravati which would help in generating jobs and development of Vidarbha. CM said the state govt is focusing on developing entire Vidarbha region rather than only concentrating on the development of Nagpur.
