It further extends southwards to meet the Kozhikode-Mysore-Kollegal Road, about 2 km away. Some of the other prominent roads passing through the area are the Krishnaraja Bouleward Road, the Vani Vilas Double Road, the BR Ambedkar Road, the Jayalakshmi Vilas Road, the New Kantharaj Urs Road amongst others. The city railway station is located about 2 km north of the area, along the JLB Road while the Mysore Airport at Marase is located about 11 km away along the Kozhikode-Mysore-Kollegal Road.

Even though the area is not renowned for its infrastructure facilities, it has the potential to develop considerably in future. Some of the reputed educational institutions in the area are the Sri Chamaraja Ursu Boarding School, Government high School and Pre-University, the Advanced Institute of Management etc. An important religious institution in the area is the Ganesha temple.
