What is Guideline Value?

Land guideline value is defined as the value determined by the government which is mainly based on the facilities, infrastructure and growth of a the micro market in a given period of time. Stamp duty and registration charges are directly dependent on the guideline value. These values are maintained in sync with market value by constant revisions and complete knowledge over market trends and by knowing how the prices might change due to varying trends.

Guideline value in Chennai is determined by the Tamil Nadu government and kept in accord by the same. Registering a value more that the guideline value will not result in adopting the higher value as the new guideline value.
