Christmas Decoration Ideas For Your Home
It is that time of the year when the reds and the greens pretty much colour everything, everywhere you look. Yes! It is Christmas and you too are itching to join in the revelries. Take a look at some of the Christmas decoration ideas that we have lined up for you. What’s more, they come cheap.
- There is no dearth of trees around where we all stay. Gather some fallen branches, slather them with some spray paint, and spread them around the house in vases. Hang some Christmas balls, little bells or other ornamental knick-knacks on them and you are good to go. Image:santa-claus-christmas-gifts
- So, according to you, the wreaths are just to hang on your door? Change the order of things. Hang them in front of mirrors; lay them out on the dining table or even your sitting room centre table. Light a few candles around it, sprinkle some flower petals and bingo! Your holiday décor is already going places.
Do you have Christmas cards collected from over the years? Stick them together with double-sided tape or glue them to hang them as Christmas artwork. Image: christmas-house-decor
- We all have photo frames in our houses, don’t we? Wrap them in gift-wrapping paper, stick a bow, flowers or little Christmas cards and hang them back. This will add some more cheer to your home.
- You could experiment with your cushions a bit. Tie them with red, green and silver coloured ribbons either around once or like a gift. Stitch a bow in the middle or add some other shapes to suit your tastes.
Take your regular white dining table cloth. Sew on it a red rectangular cloth. Along the edges of this, make parallel vertical slits. Through this slits, thread a green ribbon. Attach bells, stars or miniature Santa Clauses for a dramatic finish.
- Use your woolen mittens for things other than picking up hot stuff. Stuff them with Christmas treats like sweets, chocolates, sugar cane candies. Stitch a ribbon loop on them and hang them wherever you feel like. Image: christmas-clipart
- Why leave out your bathroom from the festivities? Use your red, green and white bath towels. Tie holiday coloured ribbons around them. Stack the towels together to create the desired effect.
Don’t let your vases lie forgotten. Fill them with red cranberries, add some greenery with twigs, put some pebbles and light a few candles around these for the extra dash of colour. You can also use your tall glasses for the same.
- Have a crate full of old wine and beer bottles? Take out your red, green and silver spray paints and colour these bottles in the holiday colours. Pop in a few candles, flowers or your painted branches for a stunning effect. Image: Christmas-Decorations-Ideas
- This one really beats everything in its simplicity. Take your vases and bottles and fill them up with water. Add food colours in shades of green, red and blue. A few drops should do. You can float candles in them or just line them up, many in a row to dazzle your guests with this holiday accent.
There are so many more ideas that you can come up with and decorate your home on your own this Christmas. All it takes is a little bit of time, a dash of spunk and you shall have decorations like none other in the entire neighbourhood. Here’s wishing you a Merry Christmas!
