DDA Housing Scheme 2014 draw to a close
Finally the dream of ‘apna ghar’ in the capital city came true for thousands of applicants when the much-awaited draw for the Delhi Development Authority (DDA)Housing Scheme was announced yesterday. The entire draw was webcasted live on www.ddadrawlive.in. Media along with public also witnessed this mega event.
While the winners were contented with over-joy, the unlucky applicants seemed skeptical about the fully computerised mechanism of draw rather than the traditional handpicking.
Announced on 22nd August 2014, the 44th Delhi Development Authority (DDA)Housing Scheme was the largest ever housing scheme till date. With 25,040 flats currently available, the flagship scheme of the capital witnessed a huge pile of 10,08,985 applications filed among variety of categories. This scheme also received the highest number of applicants in the history of the agency. The last date for submission of applications was 9th October 2014.
The draw was initiated using two seed numbers for the sequences of applicants(0355299) and flats(03695) determined by expert committee through handpicking single digits from a box and the draw process was finished with the lottery within two hours from 11:30 a.m.
DDA Vice Chairman Balvinder Kumar proudly endorsed that the agency had managed to wrap the draw of lots received by these overwhelming 10,08,985 applications in prescribed 40 days creating a record time.

Delhi High Court judge Manju Goel along with DG Mahesh Chandra from National Informatics Centre and Anshul Kumar, IIT-Delhi professor were chosen for the supervision of this mega event.
Way forward
For verification of the documents of successful winners in the draw, they are supposed to reach the headquarters of the agency during the camp planned within 15 days. All the details pertaining to the possession process will be made online including payment.
Also, each allottee will get an ID and password through which he will be able to track the status (of the allotment process). Additionally, allottees will also be notified through SMS and email alerts.
