Emphasis on Affordable Housing at APREDA’s Property Show
The Andhra Pradesh government has embarked on an innovative venture with the clear motto being ‘shelter for all’. The State housing minister announced that this venture is mainly aimed at providing affordable housing for the economically weaker sections. Approximately 20 lakh housing units are in various stages of construction in different parts of the state. Besides, the Andhra Pradesh Housing Board is also planning an ambitious Rs.1,000-crore project for developing affordable houses in urban regions of the state.
Property show to showcase latest projects:
The show was organised by the Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers Association (APREDA). It is expected that about 180 stalls of leading real estate developers would be set up at the three-day property show. This will enable prospective buyers to get to know about the latest properties, independent flats and villas that are showcased. The exhibition that is being held at the Hitex exhibition centre will conclude on October 27th, 2013.
Hyderabad to continue as a favoured realty destination:
There is a general notion of optimism that Hyderabad will eventually pull through as a development center inspite of the political turmoil that has engulfed the state since the last four years. Even though the image of the city might have taken a beating, it will not have a major impact on its future bearing. Hyderabad will continue to remain a favoured realty investment destination among the metro cities of the country, irrespective of whether the state gets bifurcated or not.
Builders request withdrawal of cumbersome clearances:
Meanwhile, there was a pressing request put forward by the builders and developers to the municipal administration and urban development minister. This was with regards to withdraw the long-drawn and cumbersome clearance process related to municipal permission for constructions in the state. In response, the minister reassured the builders by stating that the government was committed towards providing a single window clearance for constructions in the state. It was expected that a government order will come into effect in this regard in a month’s time.
Govt support to realty sector essential:
As opined by APREDA President, the real estate and construction sectors rank as the top contributors to the growth of the country’s economy. The sector presents immense potential, as a sizable number of citizens of our country are yet to purchase a good house. However, it is extremely essential that the government extends its support to this sector, so that it can generate employment on a large scale.
