Go Green-Eco-Friendly ways to get rid of bed bugs

Eco-Friendly way to get rid of bed bugs.Bed bugs are terrific nuisance and need immediate eradication. Commonly, market available chemical based pesticides are used for elimination/controlling of bed bugs. However, it is a proven fact now that use of chemical pesticides has adverse side effects on health of the users around as well as on the environment as a whole. Therefore, home remedies or Eco-friendly ways recommended for eradication of bed bugs. Let’s take a look on these green ways:

Apply steam heat

Steam heat cannot be applied on the bed, instead send all bedding items and covers for steam wash to get rid of bed bugs. In this process, not only the bugs but also its larvae, pupa, and smaller bugs also get destroyed. However, application of steam on bed may need professional expertise, hence it is better to select a trade expert.

Freeze the beddings

Like extreme hot condition, these bed bugs cannot tolerate extremely chilled weather too. As a natural process of eradication, you can keep the bedding, pillow cover, and bed covers under extreme cold at last for 48-72 hours. Extreme cold climate turns disastrous for these bugs and their lives get terminated.

Alcohols are deadly poison for bed bugs. You can spray rubbing alcohol on the bed bugs and they will be killed. You can spray alcohol at the bed bug infested places of the bed; try the remedy for 6-7 days at a stretch and you will get good result. This process kills the bug eggs as well. Use alcohol with a dish brush.

Apply Silica gel on the carpet and bed

Apply silica gel on the carpet as well as on the bed; this sticky substance gets the bugs glued. This is an easier and natural way to control the intensity of bed bugs infliction in a household. However, this process is not capable to bring best output alone unless it is assisted by other major elimination process like steam wash of the beddings, carpets,and clothes, etc.

Re-Conditioning of the home

It may sound extremely exhaustive task, but to get rid of bed bugs, it is the demand of the job, that for complete elimination you have to take the trouble of disinfecting the entire house. At one go you have to

De-clutter the home to ensure cleaning easier and allow bed bugs hardly any places to hide
Compress your mats and box spring to eradicate the inner of the bed as a hiding place for bed bugs
Repair any cracking wallpaper, if any or else, if it is not repairable remove the entire wallpaper.
You have to take extra care for sealing cracks around floors and bed boards.

Use of bean leaves

One of the most popular ways for bed bugs elimination is to spread bean leaves on the bed especially at the bug infested area. These leaves have some microscopic hooked hairs and these hairs keep the bugs trapped on their legs. Once a leaf accumulates number of bed bugs on it, the bugs can be killed.
These are also some of the green ways for killing bed bugs.
