Haryana Govt approves Affordable Housing Scheme
Haryana Government has approved the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana scheme to provide one lakh affordable flats in the state in cities including Panchkula, Gurgaon and Faridabad. Under this scheme, private developers and farmers will be provided around 2 to 10 acres land to develop housing colonies in low and medium potential towns. The scheme aims to reduce the unauthorized colonies in the state and license fee will be levied at the rate of Rs 10,000 per acre in low potential towns and Rs 1 lakh per acre in medium-potential towns.
Under this scheme, the government will not acquire any land, instead 15 per cent of builders land will be taken by it as a bail so that if the builder fails to complete the project then it can sell this land. Further, the builders will be granted license and the project has to be completed within seven years from the date of grant of license.
The Scheme aims to construct 2 lakh homes by the year 2022. Builders can develop the housing colonies in low and medium potential towns in 25 acres of area which was minimum 100 acres in previous. The scheme also aims to provide homes at the rate of Rs 1521 per sqft in cities like Panchkula. The CLU for the project will be approved within 90 days of receiving the application.
The state cabinet headed by chief minister Khattar approved the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojna to achieve the goal of houses for all by the year 2022. “Now, in order to protect the interest of the allottees, the colonizer would be allowed to sell only 50% of the saleable area till completion of internal development works,” said Khattar.
