How To Get A Snug Sleep

Sleep is one of the most important aspects of survival, be it a human or an animal. It helps a person to rejuvenate and distress himself. There can be various reasons of either depression, anxiety, pain, weakness or any other hindrance to a recovering sleep. One can easily revive himself/herself by getting a sound slumber. Here are some priced tips for you to have a better catnap at your place;

Regularly follow a bedtime routine: One of the best ways to get a good nap is to strictly follow the sleep timing. Go to sleep at the same time every night. Have a warm bath before going to bed and sprinkle your bathwater with drops of lavender oil.

Leave your worries behind: Do not strain yourself or take your worries to bed, as this would result in a lack of sleep. One can listen to soothing music rather than experiencing a violent sight or news.

Keeping yourself warm and snug: Always keep your body and feet warm during bedtime. If you wake up during the midnight, avoid turning on the lights as this would drive away your sleep.
It is believed that watching TV or reading books puts a person to sleep. Scientifically these bedtime routines cause insomnia or lesser sleep.

An evening walk/ exercise: One can also go for an evening walk before going to bed and do not go to bed without a walk after dinner. According to a sleep foundation, exercising helps a person a lot to have a sound sleep. One can exercise in the afternoon or morning.

Avoid those stimulants: If you’re looking for that sound sleep, stay away from stimulants like alcohol, sugar, caffeine and spicy foods. Consumption of these foods in the evening or afternoon will result in less sleep or insomnia.

Healthy foods: Consume rich foods with nutrients in it and avoid cold medications and other drugs. Few of the best foods for a sound sleep are bananas, fish, eggs, pineapples, grains and more. Increase the intake of Vitamins and consume natural herbal teas which will soothe your brain and nerves.

Soothe your mind: If you’re experiencing insomnia, you can always try and visualize things which can soothe your brain rather than staring at the ceiling.

Avoid turning on the lights during bedtime: Always sleep in a darker room as this will soothe your pineal glands and cause an increased production of melatonin and serotonin (Useful hormones required to sleep). Doing this will result in lesser chances of you being affected by cancer. One can also wear an eye mask to avoid the light. Harmful rays like electromagnetic rays disrupt the sleeping pattern of an individual. Check your bedroom for it. Do not keep your alarm or any electrical device closer to you.

A Nap during the day: If you are sleep deprived, make time for a short nap during the day. This will compensate with your sleep at night.

Room temperature: Temperature in your bedroom also plays an important role while sleeping.

Bedding: Also the kind of bed one sleeps on is an important aspect of sleep. Make your bed a cozy and comfortable one in order to get a good sleep. Also keep your room highly ventilated.
