About MHADA Housing Board
MHADA, established in 1948, is a housing board established for the people of the state by the Housing and Area Development Authority, Government of Maharashtra. The main objective of this MHADA Housing Board is to provide houses to economically weaker sections, poor people at affordable rates. MHADA first came up in 2012 with a low-cost housing scheme for 2593 apartments in Mumbai under a lottery system. Since then it has announced several similar lottery schemes, such as the MHADA Lottery 2017 Mumbai and more recently.
Aims Of MHADA Housing Scheme
Housing is the most important aspect of human life, all our efforts and all efforts of our government are aimed to provide “Housing for All by 2022”. As we all know that more than 30% of Indian households do not have proper housing facilities for them. In addition, many people are living on the road or sidewalks which causes devastating sadness in their lives. Some plans have emerged to address this ever-increasing problem in India. To overcome this housing issue for the poorer, every year, the MHADA has plans to unveil several lottery schemes under the MHADA Lottery Scheme to provide affordable housing options to the homeless population of the state under the government’s ambitious housing scheme “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)”. MHADA will offer affordable housing options in different cities of the state. This housing scheme is available for residents of Mumbai only.

MHADA Lottery Scheme 2020-21
Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) plans to launch an affordable housing scheme 2020-2021 for units in and around the Mumbai metropolitan area. MHADA Lottery 2020 will provide housing options under four categories, including economically weaker sections, low-income groups, middle-income groups, and high-income groups. Due to the social disturbance norms being followed after the COVID-19 epidemic, applicants will only be able to apply for the scheme online.
It has been more than a year since the Authority announced the housing scheme. The last allocation was made in June 2019, under which 217 units were allocated in various categories across Mumbai.

MHADA Lottery Scheme 2020-21 Eligibility Criteria
To check your eligibility criteria for MHADA Lottery Scheme 2020-21, you must fulfill all the below-mentioned criteria:
- The age of the applicants must be above 18 years.
- The applicant should have a Certificate of Domicile.
- The applicant should have Pan Card
- If the applicant’s monthly income is between ₹ 25001-50000. He can apply for LIG flats.
- If the applicant’s monthly income is between ₹ 50001-75000. He can apply for MIG flats.
- If the applicant’s monthly income is between ₹ 75000 or above. He can also apply for MIG flats.

If the applicant does not succeed in the lottery draw, MHADA will refund the amount spent by the applicant within seven working days. You can check the status of your refund by logging into your profile on MHADA’s website.

MHADA Lottery For Mill Workers
Recently on 4th February 2020, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority has invited applications for Mill Workers. The lottery result was drawn for the scheme announced by MHADA for Mill Workers Housing Lottery 2020 by Chief Minister Shri Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday 1st March 2020. A total of 3894 flats were allotted to the mill workers. This 225 sq.ft. flats will have 1BHK apartments. The location of these flats is Wadala and Lower Parel. 750 flats are located at Bombay Dyeing Mill, Wadala, 2630 flats in Bombay Dyeing Spring Mill Compound, Wadala, and 544 flats at Srinivas Mill in Lower Parel.
