Minor roads and big retails- Points to ponder for Electronic city
Lack of proper arterial roads and big retail stores have pulled a boner for Electronic city in Bangalore. Over the years, Electronic city has stood up as the crown jewel of Bangalore; however, lack of big retails and with the minor roads going downhill, the region demands for an imperative facelift.
Electronic City has managed to create an extra oomph in the IT market of Bangalore, which has significantly contributed towards the rapid but harum-scarum development in the region. Big brands, prestigious educational facilities concurrent with numerous roads with dead ends and thread-like passages in the Begur–Bommanahally–Bommasandra–Bannerghatta belt bear testimony to the chaotic development in the region.
Electronic City- A victim of its own success
Even though the vicinity is nested with all kinds of food markets and restaurants, the price of land per sqft in region runs of between Rs 1000-Rs 1500 per sq ft, which is subjacent to Sarjapur road, where properties sell like hotcakes at Rs 2000- Rs 2500 per sq ft. Lack of big retail brands in the vicinity is only one to be blamed for such rack and ruin.
Department stores and Individual specific goods store play a crucial role in Electronic City to meet the needs of the residents. In order to regain its throne as the pride of the silicon valley of the nation, Bangalore, the region needs to utilize its existing resources and slowly emerge as a retail hub of the city. This will also offer a hand to the economic development of the city significantly.
