Mysore: Top 5 areas for buying plots
Mysore is renowned for its large parcels of developable land with plots comprising about 70 per cent of residential property available in the city. This has prompted many investors to buy large land parcels as an investment, expecting healthy returns in future. Considering that land prices here are reasonably affordable, it presents a lucrative proposition for investors investing for the long term. With many infrastructure facilities already available here and more expected to come up in future, the city is expected to grow drastically in realty terms. Some of the areas in Mysore where there are maximum number of plots available for sale are Vijaya Nagar, Hunsur Road, Dattagilli, Bogadi and Bannur Road, among others.
Vijaya Nagar
Vijaya Nagar is located about 6 km from the heart of Mysore along its north-west fringe. About 16 per cent of the total number of residential plots in Mysore are located in Vijaya Nagar. There are plots ranging in size between 1200-4000 sq. ft. Prices of plot on an average range between Rs 30-60 lakh, with many plots available at lower (20-30 lakh) and higher (up to 2.2 crore). Price per sq. ft. range between Rs 2,500-5,000.
Hunsur Road
Hunsur Road is about 2 km north of the heart of the city through the Krishnaraja Boulevard Road. The average size of plots here range between 1200-2500 sq. ft. Prices of such plots on an average range between Rs 10-20 lakh. However, there are a few plots measuring upto 10,000 sq. ft., costing upto Rs 50 lakh. Prices per sq. ft. range between Rs 800-1000.
Dattagilli
Dattagalli is located about 5 km from the heart of the city along its western fringe. The average size of plots here range between 1200-1500 sq. ft. Prices of such plots on an average range between Rs 20-30 lakh. However, there are a few plot measuring upto 2400 sq. ft., costing upto Rs 50 lakh and a few between 600-1200 sq. ft., priced between 10-20 lakh. Prices per sq. ft. range between Rs 2000-2500.

Bogadi is located about 6 km from the heart of the city along its western fringe. The average size of plots here range between 800-1500 sq. ft. Prices of such plots on an average range between Rs 20-30 lakh. Prices per sq. ft. range between Rs 2300-2500.
Bannur Road
Bannur Road is located about 6 km away from the heart of the city, which passes as an exit road through its east. The average size of plots here range between 1200-1500 sq. ft. Prices of such plots on an average range between Rs 20-30 lakh. Prices per sq. ft. range between Rs 1500-2500.
