Room dividers: Privacy with creativity

Open plan designs in houses, apartments and townhouses are becoming more evident these days. But not everyone enjoys having only ‘one room’ and so they look for ways to divide the space in a cost effective way. Room dividers are perfect, as they are easy, mobile and effective in essentially outlining spaces.

Room dividers are a great way to create the illusion of having additional spaces, as well as provide privacy in an open plan room.

The more conventional way to section off living spaces has previously been to use bookcases and cabinets – or room dividers. This type of division works well if you are renting a home – at least you can take them down when you move. But there are alternative ways to partition or separate open plan living spaces. If you live in a studio apartment or open plan townhouse, it’s up to you to define areas in the absence of walls.

Aside from more traditional options such as a cumbersome wood room divider, consider new and easily affordable options for privacy.

There are so many affordable options for designing a modern room divider that serves to section off without dividing up.

Glass divider:

Glass dividers can be of different styles, with transparent glass, coloured glass, designed glass, stained glass and more. The glass panels can be equally designed and coloured to suit the essence of the room. And with the glass appropriate lightings can be used also to give it a different look. The sliding glass doors can be used for dividing your dining from kitchen or bedroom from hall.

Wood:

The most feasible and common divider are made of wood. This gives you a more classy look and adds to the traditional charm in your house. You can also make panels of wood like a shutters to give your room a Mediterrean touch.

Bamboo blinds:

This are the simple and cheapest way to divide your room spaces. This are easily available in the market and also affordable. They can be simply hung from the ceiling to divide the space. Artistic, eco-friendly and in expensive, these blinds come in a range of shades.

Shelves:

Book shelves and store shelves are also good option to divide your space. A simple stainless steel floor lamps, minimal furniture, and other decorative elements, all with a contemporary design, can create a striking effect.

Making a divider is very creative and exciting , as you don’t have any limitation of door or window, its an empty canvas for your creativity to flow in according to you room decor.
