SC Orders NBCC To Complete Housing Projects In Noida & Greater Noida
The Supreme Court (SC) ordered the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) Ltd. to start and finish the work of 8-stalled housing projects involving 11,258 housing units in Noida and Greater Noida and start delivering possession to the buyers.
The Supreme Court judges directed by Justice Arun Mishra including Justice Uday Lalit asked NBCC (India) Ltd to complete the incomplete projects in Noida and Greater Noida that include Zodiac, Princely Estate, Silicon City 1 & 2, O2 Valley, Centurion Park Low Rise and the Sapphire 1 & 2.
The Supreme Court ordered the receiver, in the case designated by it, to sell 85 cars of Amrapali without delay to accumulate as many funds as it can for the completion of the incomplete projects in Noida and Greater Noida region.
Lawyer M L Lahoti argued for several homebuyers, whereas, Geeta Luthra reported for Amrapali during the trial in the Amrapali real estate case before the Supreme Court.
The court also said that the Surekha family, which took interest in buying some projects of Amrapali, may face serious outcomes for their failure in depositing Rs 167 crores, as per the Court’s earlier order. It also made aware the Surekhas that 3-members of their family may be put in prison if they fail to adhere to the Court’s order.
On 14th October 2019, the Supreme Court had ordered Bhubaneshwar and Raipur authorities to deposit an amount of Rs 34.50 crores and Rs 20 crores each in its registry in the case concerning the incomplete housing projects of embattled Amrapali Group in Noida and Greater Noida. The above-mentioned amount Amarapali had provided to these authorities for getting leases in the cities.
The next date of the trial is 13th December 2019.
