Women should not be hindered within the four walls of the house. They have a lot to give to society through their skill and talent. So the government has launched this housing scheme so that they can get easy housing facilities, as well as they, can use their skills to become financially independent. Even under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the flagship scheme of the government is a benefit for women buyers. Under this scheme, women get special interest rates and benefits. Many banks also provide additional benefits to women borrowers. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has also simplified a simple process of applying for a house under this scheme.
Housing For Women With Basic Amenities
Under this housing scheme, women who will register for flats will get many facilities along with the flat. These houses will be equipped with advanced security standards which will be 24 * 7. It will have facilities like Yoga Center, Gym, Health and Wellness Clinic, Common Recreation Hall, etc. For easy transportation, these accommodations will also have shuttle services to provide transportation to railway stations, banks, supermarkets, etc. Under this scheme, the flats will be registered owned by women only.
Housing For Women At Affordable Rate
The rates of housing for women under this housing scheme are very affordable. Women of the nation can now have more easily registered flats under their names. To participate in the scheme, there is a token registration amount that has to be paid first. By giving ₹11,000, they can now book a flat under this residential scheme for women. The government has also brought some easy facilities for low-interest housing loans for the purchase of these flats. These loans will be arranged by some leading banks such as India Bulls, Axis Bank, PNB Housing Finance, Andhra Bank, etc. These housing loans specially intended for women will have easy repayment EMI and long tenure to pay the loan amount.
A Stage For Women To Work And Earn
The scheme is not only aimed at providing housing facilities to women but to nurture their hidden talents and make them empowered and financially independent. Women can use their skills and talents, which they can use to earn a living and build their identity in society. The scheme facilitates women to improve their skills in many fields. For example, they can open cookery classes, beauty services, tutoring centers, teach swimming and yoga, practice nursing and interior designing, and give dance and music classes, etc. They can also open crèches and daycare centers in their homes and take care of the children to earn their living.
Ongoing Projects Of Mahila Awas Yojana
The government has already announced that this scheme in both urban and rural areas to provide housing and nurture their talent will be spread across the country. Two housing projects have already been developed under the Mahila Awas Yojana and booking of these flats is underway. The housing schemes under this project are being developed in Greater Noida (West), Noida, Delhi, and Ghaziabad Rajnagar Extension. Many other cities will soon come up with such projects to provide easy housing to women and empower them in society.
State-wise Mahila Awas Yojana Updates
Mahila Awas Yojna, Delhi
The Delhi Housing Society has come up with an affordable housing scheme in Dwarka where they will offer 360 apartments, with 33% of the houses reserved for women under the Mahila Housing Scheme, Delhi. The project is being constructed in the proximity of Indira Gandhi International Airport and will house 1/2/3/4 BHK apartments of 410 – 1400 sqft. Registration can be made by paying a token amount of 15,000 (for the smallest configuration) post which candidates are eligible for a lucky draw. Prices of these houses start from ₹ 18.45 lakh.
Mahila Awas Yojna, Noida and Greater Noida
Two affordable housing projects under the Mahila Awas Yojana, Aastha Greens, and Spring Meadows have been launched in Greater Noida (West) by private housing. Women can opt for 1/2/3/4 BHK residential apartments at 580 – 2125 sqft in Spring Meadows with a starting price of ₹ 26 lakh. At Aastha Greens, they can avail 2 and 3 BHK flats with floor sizes between 1150 and 1900 sqft at an initial price of ₹ 40.8 lakh.
Mahila Awas Yojna, Ghaziabad
The first project under this scheme Windsor Paradise-II in Ghaziabad was started by a private developer called Windsor Infrastructure at Rajnagar Extension under the supervision of the Ghaziabad Development Authority. Windsor Paradise-II is spread over 7 acres of land and offers 2/3/4 BHK configurations measuring 895-2250 sqft. After a good response, the builder has extended the benefits of this project to Aastha Greens, a luxurious residential project in Noida Extension. The starting price of the flats in this project is at ₹ 18.5 lakhs
.Truvae Khushbu at Siddharth Vihar, Indirapuram, and Unnao Heights, Ghaziabad at Raj Nagar Extension are the other two projects being built under the scheme by Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board.
