Commonfloor recommends tips on how to create a visual poetry with the vibrant hues.
For the living room:
Decorating your living room with peacock colours requires minimal decorations as the colours should be used as an accessory. Begin the decorations with neutral coloured furniture with colours of white, beige or tan. For the floor of your living room, get brightly coloured rugs, carpets with shades of blue, green, teal, or simply get peacock rugs with peacock images on the rug.
Accessories and upholstery like peacock feathers or other embellishments coloured in blue, green and gold can be added. Or simply place a vase with peacock feathers in it in the corner of the room or as a centrepiece on the table. You can also hang the peacock feathers on the wall using a cellophane tape.
For your bedroom:
Ensure that your peacock bedroom decoration remains neutral by adding peacock colours for the brightness aspect. Blend all the bright colours in your room and use plain white or pastel coloured wooden furniture. Accessories like wall hangings and vases containing peacock feathers should be placed near the bed or on the wall. Ensure that you have accessories with shades of blue, green, black and gold. The upholstery, linen and bedding can also be of the same colour. You can mount a large peacock portrait above the bed or various paintings of birds to depict the theme.
For your dining room:
You can have a peacock decorated dining table in your room and place the table at a focal point. You can either get a table cloth with peacock prints on it or cover the table with bright multi-coloured sheet. For that dash of glam, add gold and white table rims. Have a large vase with colorful Christmas bulbs of blue and green along with few peacock feathers. Make use of sand in the vase to make the peacock feathers the central part of the table.
