Tips to make window awnings for your apartment bedroom
Having an awning to your apartment bedroom window will make it look cozy and stylish. Awnings can be installed for both adults and children bedrooms for a look of sophistication and playfulness. To make your own awnings, rush to the craft store and pick up the following items;

- Fabric
- Brackets
- Scissors
- Decorative rods
- Dowel rods
- Sewing machine
1. With a measuring tape, measure the width of your window and add additional two inches to the measurement. Based on the measurement, cut two dowels and the fabric which can further fit appropriately to the window.
2. Measure the bowel rod and sew a sleeve to the rod with your desired fabric. Cover the rod with the sleeve with a small end being shown at both the points. Fasten the rods to the window with the help of decorative brackets. Avoid tightening it completely and ensure that the brackets, rods and the fabric blend well together.
3. Place the other dowel rod alongside the window in a parallel position. If you are creative enough, you can position them in your desired awning slope and window covering. Another decorative rod should be placed onto the ends of the decorative rods.
4. Once the rods are in place, drape the fabric over the end by marking the leading edge of the fabric. Take off the awning and cut the fabric to the length by sewing a sleeve into the bottom of the awning edge. The second dowel rod should be placed through the sleeve.
5. Refasten the awning and secure the brackets to the wall by affixing the bottom to the ends of the decorative rods.
