Tips to remove hard water stains from glass
Stains caused by hard water on glass surfaces make the area look dirty especially on bathroom glass doors, mirrors and windows. Hard water stains can ruin bathroom tiles, floor, etc. To remove the highly concentrated calcium and magnesium from a glass surface is quite a tedious task. One should use acid based cleaners to get rid of the stains or if you prefer natural ways, you can use a mixture of vinegar and baking soda.
Here are some tips:
To clean a plain glass:
Going the natural way is one of the cheapest ways to get rid of the stains on a glass. Apply a paste of vinegar and baking soda. Make use of a scrubbing sponge to get rid of the stains in a circular motion. Let the paste stay on the surface for about 15 minutes. After letting the paste dry for 15 minutes, wipe the glass surface away with a damp towel. In case the stains are not gone make use of an acid based cleaner.
You can also use a lemon by covering the stained area to get rid of the stains. Also alcohol can be used to remove the stains on the glass.
To clean the glass with texture or intricate designs:
You can make use of lemon oil for textured or intricate designed glass to get rid of stains.
Before applying the lemon oil to the stained area, ensure that the area is free of moisture so that the lemon oil does not cause any smudges on the glass surface.
Avoid applying soap to remove the lemon oil as this will not give a shiny look.
