Tips to set up a guest room
Are you having guests in your apartment for the festive season and vacation? Are you worried about an unorganised guestroom? Don’t worry. All you need to do is to follow these tips and set your guestroom accordingly.
Plan carefully before starting the redecoration and ensure to equip your guest room well to make your guests self sufficient.
- Create as much space as you can by eliminating all the unnecessary items out of the room. The room should be spacious enough for your guests to store their luggage. Hangers and clothes hooks are must haves for your guestroom.
- Lay a set of cots/futons draped in elegant, clean sheets with bold coloured pillow covers and throws. Make sure to present all the necessities to provide a snug and cozy slumber. Multipurpose furniture can be of great use though.
- Since storage space for your guests is really important, place a chic shelf or a medium sized cupboard in the room. In case you find it inconvenient to place a cupboard in the room, you can always place their luggage in a corner.
- Important necessities like a side table mounted with a water of jug, a glass and reading material should be kept. Optional items like an iron box and an emergency light can be kept in the room so that your guests are not dependent on you for mere things.
- The bathroom should be well equipped with additional necessities like an towels, soaps, toilet paper, toothpaste, unused toothbrushes, buckets and mugs along with a pair of unused bathroom footwear.
- Maintain your bathroom clean.
- Guests with toddlers or infants should be provided with a table lamp so that it becomes easy for them to feed the baby at night.
- Seating objects like a pair of chairs can be placed in the room for the guests to relax. Having a grandpa chair in the corner is not a bad idea.
