Bathroom storage ideas – Part 1
Whether your bathroom is small or large, you should keep it clutter-free by maximizing the storage space. Despite its size, there are a lot of necessary things to be stored in a bathroom for everyday use. Things like towels to toilet paper, grooming products and other machinery are the basic bathroom necessities. Here are some easy and simple ideas.
Bathrooms basically should be constructed based on a theme with storage options like shelving units and tall cabinets. You can maximise the bathroom space by having vertical storage spaces up to the ceiling. Opt for classy and sophisticated designed bathroom shelves.
1. Ensure that you do not have pedestal sinks in your bathroom as they can serve only few purposes, instead have a dresser turned into a vanity. This will give you sufficient storage space along with style.
2. Decorate or make use of your boring bathroom corners by installing a vertical pot rack. This will help you store your grooming products and those extra towels.
3. Avoid using cabinets in your bathroom and instead opt for narrow vertical pullout shelves inside of cabinets. These will help you keep the items in an organised manner by making it more visible and easily fitting between the awkward pipes.
4. For large bathrooms, you can have a free standing cabinet which will accommodate everything in one spot with the closed doors hiding the clutter. If you can manage keeping things organised, you can have glass doors instead.
5 . Observe your bathroom and look out for creative spaces to store the objects. You can use the space over the toilet. Ensure that there is enough space left for clearance so that the toilet tank top can be easily removed for repairs wherever necessary. The toilet can also have a snugly fitting cabinet which can be purchased.
6. You need not sacrifice that extra space in your bathroom and instead find extra storage by having shelves being built between the wall studs. The shelf can either have doors or be door-less.
7. If a bathroom has half walls, between the bathtubs, showers and toilets, hire a carpenter to cut openings in them which can create extra storage. Objects like towels and grooming materials can be stored in.
8. If the bathroom has a console unit instead of a traditional vanity, install a shelf across the bathroom. Other accessories like a towel bar and a hand dryer can be installed in front of it. Always have a series of hooks in your bathroom to hang or mount objects.
9. Install or construct a shelf above the bathroom door. This can be made out of metal or wood brackets supporting the shelf. Depending on the size of the bathroom, a single or a double shelf can be added around the walls.
10. You can have a secret cabin behind your bathroom mirror or under the basin. This will make it easier for you to use the grooming objects stored behind the mirror. The storage unit under the basin will help you store other necessary objects too.
11. Have small platforms installed in your bathroom. This will help you place neatly stacked towels and keep beauty products.
12. You can always have a vertical storage shelf placed in your bathroom if room permits.
