City Officials identify 66-acres of Litigation-Free land in Hyderabad
The Hyderabad district administration, after a six-month long effort, has found 66 acres of land in its jurisdiction that is litigation-free. It is estimated that this land could be worth hundreds of crores.
Govt land identified across 16 city mandals:
The Andhra Pradesh Land Management Authority (APLMA) was formed by the government to review the status of government land in the state. Following up on its instructions, the Hyderabad district administration had conducted a survey with regards to identifying government land located in 16 mandals of the city. They include the mandals of Ameerpet, Asifnagar, Amberpet, Bandlaguda, Bahadurpura, Charminar, Golconda, Himayathnagar, Khairatabad, Marredpally, Musheerabad, Nampally, Saidabad, Shaikpet, Secunderabad and Trimulgherr.
Tahsildars entrusted with collating data:
Meanwhile, tablet phones were provided by the district administration to tahsildars to capture the images of government land in their jurisdiction. Besides, they were also entrusted with the task of collating data with regards to the survey number, the town survey land record (TSLR) number, the total area, extent of land and vacant land available.
Land identified in 119 parcels:
The survey conducted by the tahsildars revealed the presence of 66 acres of clear and litigation-free government land. The land was identified in 119 different parcels across 16 mandals in Hyderabad district. As informed by the collector of Hyderabad, the largest extend of clear and litigation-free government land (10.02 acres) was identified in Shaikpet, which was followed by Saidabad.
District administration entrusted with protecting land parcels:
The onus was now on the government to protect the parcels of land thus identified during the survey. As a first step in this regard, the district administration has already completed construction of compound walls around 30 of the 119 parcels of land identified. Besides, permission was granted to construct compound walls for the remaining parcels of land. The construction of compound walls on the remaining parcels of land was expected to be completed by March, 2014.
District administration requests departments to undertake developments:
Meanwhile, the district administration has send requests to departments of social welfare, education, women and child welfare, backward class welfare, SC/ST welfare and minority welfare to undertake developmental activities. These include activities like construction of schools, hospitals, hostels and other important welfare amenities on the 66-acre government land parcels.
