Entrepreneurs to get plots in Gurgaon under special scheme
The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has come up with a quick allotment program only for a ‘special category’ entrepreneurs in order to boost up the investor sentiment amidst a slowdown in the market.
Where are the plots situated?
Under this scheme, the special category investors are allowed to buy industrial plots in some of the HSIIDC townships in Haryana, including Bawal and Roj Ka Meo industrial townships. Such plots are readily available (‘off-the-shelf’ allotment) to the investors in the selected industrial townships of the state.
How do the entrepreneurs get the plots?
The authority has put the entrepreneurs at ease with the special scheme of plot allotment. The businessmen can directly apply for these off-the-shelf plots at any time, and no formal invitation of applications are required, said HSIIDC officials.
Classification of projects for allotment
The HSIIDC has divided its various townships, which are part of the allotment programme, into three categories- Category A, Category B and Category C.
Category A: The projects amounting to a sum of Rs 30 crore are listed under Category A. It consists of the IMTs in Faridabad and Roj Ka Meo, and the Industrial Estate Panipat.
Category B: The projects which are to the tune of Rs 20 crore are included under Category B. It includes townships such as Bawal and Rohtak.
Category C: Small projects in the range of Rs 10 Crore are included in Category C. Townships like Manakpur, Narwana and Barwala are listed under this category.
What experts say?
The industrial market experts are of the opinion that this plot allotment method appears to be a final effort of the state’s authorities to revive the slowing investment market. However, since the availability of land is very less in Gurgaon, there is hardly any room for new industrial township projects in the city.
Will the move prove successful?
According to the market watchers, this move is not likely to bring about any drastic change in the market. While the authority is excited about the new scheme it has come up with for a special group of businessmen, the entrepreneurs are concerned about different issues. Consequently, many small industrialists in Gurgaon have been campaigning against the industry authority’s estate management norms, which is even being interpreted as draconian’ and ‘self-serving’.
Apart from this, industrial community members alleged that, due to the existing anti-industry policies of the Haryana government, the industrialists are not ready to come to Gurgaon or any other place in the state to set up their industrial base.
